Scope & Content Amelia Island Light-Station
Fernandina, Fla.
March 22nd, 1909
Captain E. M. Adams, U. S. A.
Light-House Engineer, 6th District
Charleston, S.C.

Sir:
Your letter of March 19th, 1909 enclosing blue-print showing Light House Reservation has been received. I do not find the marks as described but by measuring along the line of fence I find it according to plat and find that the entire Light-House Reservation is under fence and according to this, the Light House Department does not control the slope of the hill on the east side which they should control. I think the reservation is bounded all around by government land, and I thoguht, as a good many thus do, that there was about 40 acres of Light House land but there isi only the four acres which is under fence and therefore there is no one residing on this land.
