|Title||Letter from Saml. A. Swann to Mr. Drew urging support for two bills in the House.|
|Scope & Content||
Fernandina, Fla. May 25th,1895.
Dear Mr. Drew;-
I can't but feel some uneasiness for fear the pressure by others of their private bills during the few days now left, will crowd out the R. R. land grant and Senate Bill 237 which would be disastrous to us all here. Pray don't let any consideration whatever cause you to cease pressing these two measures to an immediate passage.
Our pepole look to you for the success of these bills and I have repeatedly assured them that your known push and determination could be relied upon in this instance.
We had both a R. R. and Chamber of Commerce meeting last evening when I was urged to again write you touching these matters.
Bill 237 was recommended by the Committee on the 20th but I have not yet seen that further action has been taken in the House. Please at once gather around you all possible support and press both this and the R. R. grant bill to a successful termination. I know of no other Nassau County or Fernandina bills before either house.
(signed) Saml. A. Swann
