|Title||Letter from Maggie Godley to Mr. Ballard|
|Scope & Content||
Letter addressed to Mr. S. R. Ballard
Principal of Schools no. 2,3, and 4.
Chas. M. Lewis
Supt. of Common Schools,
I Maggie J. Godly, by request of the people wishes to book to School at St. Mary's Mills. The people has petitioned for me to be their teacher. And I with them apply to you, and the remainder of the School Board--to grant me the privilege of teaching the School. It is my wish to serve the people as much as it is their desire to have me serve them. And if I succeed in getting the position I will do all that lies in my power to discharge any duty towards them faithfully.
Hoping that you will comply with my request I await your answer with the greatest impatience.
Yours very Respectfully
Maggie J. Godley
