Records of General Court Martial convened at Morris Island, S. C. pursuant to Special Orders No. 48, dated August 5, 1863 and Special Orders No. 104, dated Sept. 12th, 1863. Major Chas. H. Hooper, 24th Mass. Vols. was President.
Arraigned and tried were:
Private William Naylor, Co. I, 100th N. Y. Vols.
Edward Tann, Co. C, 100th N. Y. Vols
John Costigan, Co. I 24th Mass. Vols.
All were found guilty (Misbehavior in presence of enemy, disobedience of orders, conduct in prejudice to good order and military discipline.)
All were fined and were sentenced. Sentences were to be carried out at Fort Clinch, Fernandina, Fla.
