7th Connecticut Infantry in Florida. Camp near Fernandina, Florida, March 1st, 1863, four pages in ink by Samuel W. Alcott, Co. F., 7th Connecticut Infatry, to his brother...describes the hit weather and there is a quantity of gnats and mosquitoes here..the latter are of the size that carried off the potash kettle, a pair of drawers, and pants with a rubber and woolen blanket are nothing for them to go through and when on pciket there is not much good to tryp and sleep, describes the lack of supplies, scarce Florida datelined letter....$55.00 (#345)
