Title Agreement between Lewis A. Davis and William C. and Charles J. Davis

Scope & Content A handwritten copy of an Agreement made 10 September 1880 between Lewis A. Davis of Orange Bluff, Nassau, County, Florida, of the one part of William C. and Charles J. Davis of Nassau County, Florida, of the other part. The parties agree to associate themselves as partner for five years from date of agreement in business of manufacturing lumber, buying and selling goods belonging to this line of trade. Name of business is to be Lewis A. Davis and Brothers. Lewis A. Davis invests 1000 dollars and credit to amount of 2000 dollars for mutual advantage of the parties in management of the business. Both parties will put forth their utmost and best efforts for the mutual advantage of increase of the capital stock. Accurate book account shall by kept. Lewis A. Davis will receive 100 dollars per month; William C. Davis to receive 75 dollars and Charles J. Davis to receive fifty dollars per month. Losses and expenditures to be born equally by partners; gains and profits go 1/2 to Lewis A. Davis and the other half equally between W. C. and Charles J. Davis.
