Scope & Content |
A letter written to Maria Hatcher Tracy from her grandson, Domingo C. Acosta. Domingo was the son of Maria's daughter, Catherine Isabelle Hatcher Acosta and her husband Eustace J. Acosta. The 'Buddy' possibly refers to Domingo's oldest brother Eustace John Acosta, Jr, who was 10 years his elder and was living with his wife in Savannah, GA. Sent from Tebeauville, GA, the letter was sent before the family moved and were established in Blackshear, GA by 1870. The transcription was provided by Ruth Anne Thomson, a descendant of Catherine Isabelle Hatcher Acosta. This collection of correspondences, photographs, personal items, and maps are from the life of Erasmus Darwin Tracy and Porte Creyon Tracy. This collection was donated by the Verne Johnson Pickren, Jr. family for all to enjoy. |
