A letter written to E. D. Tracy, Sr. from his son, E. D. Tracy, Jr. who was called Darwin by family. Darwin makes mention of how General Burnside has reached Hilton Head, and that rumor is he plans to run twelve Iron Clads into "this place", but that it is a dangerous undertaking. One of the transcripts comes from 'The Tracy Heritage' book fround in the museum library. This collection of correspondences, photographs, personal items, and maps are from the life of Erasmus Darwin Tracy and Porte Creyon Tracy. This collection was donated by the Verne Johnson Pickren, Jr. family for all to enjoy. |
