Scope & Content |
A letter to Erasmus Darwin Tracy, Sr. from his brother Cyrus Mason Tracy. Not only does Cyrus indicate that of the four sons born to Cyrus and Hannah Mason Tracy, only he and E. D. remain, but that he "...[prized his] only brother too highly to endure or promote a shade of difference between [them], even when [they] think directly opposite on points of national importance...". Cyrus Mason also mentions receiving letters from E. D.'s sons Lucien and Erasmus Darwin Tracy, Jr., and updates his brother on things with his family. The transcript comes from "The Tracy Heritage" book found in the museum library. This collection of correspondences, photographs, personal items, and maps are from the life of Erasmus Darwin Tracy and Porte Creyon Tracy. This collection was donated by the Verne Johnson Pickren, Jr. family for all to enjoy. |
