St. Joseph's Academy was established as a one room school in 1871. It closed in 1971. The school re-opened at St. Michael's Academy, following extensive preservation work. The forward is written by William Morris, General Chair. A mixture of new and old photographs are included: Sister Agnes' Stars, 1907; Frances Horsey(with violin) and Alma Morse Partridge (at piano);old and new views of the Academy; Sister Magdeline in convent yard; First communion class, May 1953, Sister Geraldine, Father Ketter, Carol Hall, Niki Doll, Buddy Kelly, Tommy Hall, Terry Peterson, J. K. Freeman; Father Patrick J. Halligan (Rector, St. Michael's Church from 1935 to 1952) with Toscie and puppy. |
