Signed prints by Robert Harter (3 copies) The Fairbanks Home is located at 227 South 7th Street. One of Florida's outstanding examples of Italianate architecture, it was built in 1885 by Major George Fairbanks with R. S. Schuyler as architect. Fairbanks was editor of the Florid Mirror from 1879-188t, wrote a history of Florida, and helped establish the state's citrus industry. Originallly painted yellow and green with red trim, the house was know as "Fairbanks' Folly." It is individually cited in the National Register of Historic Places.
