1. Torn page of The Clincher from Winter 2002 (Vol. 7, No. 1) announcing new officers for 2002: President Frank Ofeldt, Vice President Gene Sovereign, Secretary Nancy Lancaster and Treasurer Calvin Stephens. Board Members: Samantha Ofeldt, Lori Sage, Richard Smith, Susan Steger, Bob White, Mary Agnes White and ex-officio, Don Davis. Retiring Board Members: Hal Belcher, Nita Birdges, Mary Beth Litrico, Ed Livingston, and Annie Francis Walker. 2. Letter from Frances Wentz Taber to Program Chairman General Duncan Lamont Clinch Historical Society dated 14 May 2002 offering to provide a program about her great-great-grandfather who served at Fernandina and at Fort Clinch from March 1862 to January 1863 with Company C, First Regiment, New York Volunteer Engineers. His name is James Watson (1/7/1825 to 3/4/1899). Attached is a note from Don Davis to Samantha dated 5/16/02 asking her to acknowledge Francis Taber's letter. 3. Copy of 2002 Uniform Business Report containing a list of Officers and Directors including their addresses. 4. Minutes of the Board of Directors meeting of 13 January 2002. Speaker for upcoming January meeting will be Jill Howard, a park ranger on Ft. George Island who will speak about the Kingsley Plantation. 5. Photos of Frank Ofeldt and others from the April meeting. 6. Minutes of the Board of Directors meeting 1 April 2002. Speaker will be Frank Ofeldt who will portray General Clinch. The Society voted to join the Chamber of Commerce. 7. Minutes of the Board of Directors meeting 1 July 2002. Trip of Olustee has been cancelled. A procedure of using a sign-in sheet with "member" or "guest" designations at future general meetings will be instituted to help determine the status of our members. 8. Paper titled Help Bring a Confedrate Sailor Home: Assistant Engineer Lt. Edward J. K. Johnston 9. Minutes of the Board of Directors meeting 1 July 2002. The topic for the next meeting will be Historical Landfalls. |
