1. Minutes of the meeting of the Duncan Lamont Clinch Memorial Association on 10 June 1950 held at Jetty Lodge in Fort Clinch State Park. Duncan Lamont Clinch, President, praised the work of the Florida State Board of Parks and Historic Memorials and encouraged further restoration of Fort Clinch. Mrs. C. D. Towers recommended reelection of present slate of officers. Ferreira reported on Fort Clinch road paving. Acquiring new members and the Fort Clinch budget were also discussed. 2. Letter to General Duncan Lamont Clinch Memorial Association from E. I. McLarney, Deputy Commissioner of Internal Revenue, U. S. Treasury Department, dated 24 October 1950. Letter discusses status of the Association for Federal income tax purposes. No ruling to be made until Association operates for the purpose for which it was formed. 3. Letter covering information in #2. Same date. Envelope enclosed. 4. Letter to Commission of Internal Revenue from J. Wm. Decker, Executive Secretary of the Gen. D. L. Clinch Memorial Association dated 27 September 1950 containing an exemption affidavit for the amount of $5000. This is a contribution to the General Duncan Lamont Clinch Memorial Association and is supposed to be used for a restoration project in Fort Clinch by the Florida State Park Service if matched with an agreeable mount. Letter explains that Mr. Duncan L. Clinch is great-grandson of Gen. Duncan Lamont Clinch (for whom the organization is named). Also enclosed is printed matter indicating Charter Members up to the time of the Dedication. 5. Letter to General Duncan Lamont Clinch from E. I. McLarney, Deputy Commissioner of Internal Revenue dated 24 October 1950. Letter states Clinch Memorial Association is an unincorporated association organized to Perpetuate the memory of Brigadier General Duncan Lamont Clinch in whose memory and honor Fort Clinch was named. No ruling can be made as to Federal income tax status until the Association's charter has been recorded and operated under for at least one year. 6. List of Persons Present at the Meeting of the Duncan Lamont Clinch Memorial Association. List includes a number of names from Clinch County, GA. 7. Clipping from Fernandina News Leader dated 16 June 1950. Headline: Clinch Descendant Here for Memorial Association Meeting. Meeting held at Jetty Lodge in Fort Clinch. Officers and Trustees of the Association were listed. Article notes that the association is dedicated to the development of Fort Clinch. State money is needed. 8.
