A letter written to Ada Byron Tracy (Hatcher) from her brother, Washington Irving Tracy. In this letter to his sister, Irving mentions Tebeauville, the name of a town that would later become Waycross, GA. He also asks Ada to knit him a pair of socks and that he had heard from their brother E. D. Tracy, Jr. recently. Washington Irving Tracy would not survive the war, dying of smallpox in a Savannah, GA hospital on January 28th, 1864. This collection of correspondences, photographs, personal items, and maps are from the life of Erasmus Darwin Tracy and Porte Creyon Tracy. This collection was donated by the Verne Johnson Pickren, Jr. family for all to enjoy. |
