1. Membership solicitation from Nancy D. Seibert (Mrs. William H. Seibert, Membership Chairman) dated 22 February 1965 outlining reasons to join and projected annual presentation of the historical pageant, "Romance of Eight Flags." 2. Letter from Secretary of State (Tallahassee) to Mrs. J. M. Bartels, President, The General Duncan Lamont Clinch Historical Society of Amelia Island, Harrison Homestead, Amelia City, Fernandina Beach, Florida. Dated 26 February 1965. Acknowledges receipt of letter from Mrs. Elaine M. Johnson, Executive Secretary of the Historical Society, and agrees to participate in a meeting if a date can be found. He requests information about the Society and encloses a copy of the Laws of Florida relating to Archeology, History and Public Records. 3. Letter from Bartels to Sam Marino, Bay Stage Lighting Co. Tampa, Florida, dated 11 March 1965. Requests Marino send his contract immediately for the 1965 presentation of the pageant in June. Commends his work on the previous presentation of the pageant. 4. Letter from Mrs. Elaine M. Johnson, Executive Secretary, to Honorable Tom Adams, Secretary of State (for Florida) dated 10 February 1965. Letter relays request from Bartels that Adams speak to the Society regarding the proposed plan of action, purposes, etc., for the Florida Archives Commission. 5. Two page list of Editors and Newspapers in Georgia and Florida. 6. Draft of a form letter (Dear Mr. ________) from Mrs. Jay Bartels inviting recipients to be a guest at the second annual historical pageant. 7. Letter from Bartels to His Excellency Antonio Carillo Flores, Ambassador of Mexico (2829 16th St., Washington, D.C.) dated 4 May 1965 inviting the Ambassador to attend the historical pageant. Bartels states last year Spanish Consul General attended. 8. Invitations mailed to: Mr. Robert Picquet, Consul General of France, and Mr. Don Juan R. Parellada, Consulate General of Spain. 9-11. Letters of invitation to: President Lyndon B. Johnson; His Excellency Lord Arleck, Ambassador of Great Britain; and His Excellency Herve Alphand, Ambassador of France. 12. Program for The General Duncan Lamont Clinch Historical Society of Amelia Island's Second Annual Historical Drama titled "Romance of Eight Flags." By Mr. and Mrs. Jay Bartels, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Phansteil, and Faith Britton. Includes names of all who participated. 13. Newspaper clipping Believe it or not: Land was once dirt cheap in Nassau by Susan G. Alexander (Special to the News-Leader). Describes a field trip by 80 members of the General Duncan Lamont Clinch Historical Society of Amelia Island. 14. Letter to His Excellency Marquis de Merry del Val, Ambassador of Spain from Mrs. Jay Bartels (President) dated 4 May 1965. Bartels invited the Ambassador of Spain to the historical pageant The Romance of Eight Flags" to be held June 17 to 19. 15. Compilation of history of Crandall condensed from Yesterday's Reflections. 16. Six page article copies from The Vanished Town of Kings Ferry located on the South Banks of the St. Marys River Nassau County, Florida. Written from memory and an old picture by William Mizell, Jr. Dated 23 February 1965 at age 76. 17. First Churches and Ministers for Pigeon Creek Baptist Church. Information furnished by Florida Baptist Witness. 18. Letter to Galphin dated 19 January 1965 from A. J. Hanna, Vice President of Rollins College (Winter Park, FL). Letter thanks Galphin for providing information needed for Rollins College's Louis C. Tiffany Memorabilia. 19. Resolution Adopted at Annual Meeting of the Board of Trustees of Rollins College (adopted February 19, 1965, Resolution concerns donation of Louis C. Tiffany materials to the Mills Memorial Library of Rollins College. 20. Letter to County Commissioner William H. Galphin dated 10 August 1965 from A. J. Hanna, Vice President. Letter notes inclusion of correspondence between Doug Carnegie Rockefeller and Hanna and requesting other information about Cumberland Island. 21. See #20. Carbon copy of letter from Hanna to Rockefeller. 22. Letter from Rockefeller, One of the heirs and present land owner on Cumberland Island to Miss Clink,. Rockefeller wishes to know why Dr. Hanna wishes to know specific information about Cumberland. 23. Typewritten Bibliography of Materials on Cumberland Island in Rollins College Library. Amendment of By-Laws approved. General meeting held 18 January 1965. Changes to By-Laws approved by membership. Proposed slate of officer for 1965: Mrs. Jay M. Bartels (President), Mr. Evert Elvin, (1st Vice President). Mrs. J. J. G. Cooper,( 2nd Vice President), Mrs. Otto Phansteil (executive secretary), Mrs. Elaine M. Johnson (Recording Secretary), Mr. Ira Hall (Treasurer. Trustees: Mrs. James Beard, Mrs. Ernest Davis, Mr. John t. Ferreira, Mrs. I. W. Hardee, Jr., Mrs. Nancy Seibert, Mr. Ben Sorenson, Mr. Claude Wingate and Mr. William Webb. Speaker for the evening was Mr. Herschel Shepherd (whom the State had commissioned to restore Fort Clinch). Documentary "And Then There Were None: was shown. General Meeting held 12 April1965. Program presented by Col. O. Z. Tyler, Jr. (president of Riverside Bank of Jacksonville). Program spoke on Myer M Cohen's book: Notice of Florida the t Campaign (history of Seminole Wars.) Board meeting held 24 June 1965. Due to lack of quorum no meeting was held 13 December 1965. 24. Undated newspaper clipping: Maurice Geoffrey to produce Pageant on Amelia Isle for Historical Society.
