Hardee, Sr., founded Standard Hardware & Grocery Co. at Fernandina in 1900. Around 1950, the company separated into Hardee Brothers Co. and Standard Hardware. Standard Hardware occupied the historic Huot Building while Hardee Brothers remained in the original building on Centre St. StanMar expanded to Key West and Tampa. |
