Description |
Three persons: Front row: standing Ola Bazet Gorenflo, seated on right front probably Mr. D. A. Kelly. Rear row: Left, probably Mrs. D. A. Kelly, second and third probably Mr. and Mrs. Nathaniel Borden (Mrs. Florence Borden) and, fourth, Mr. Frank Gorenflo. Presumably taken on Amelia Island. The 1925 edition of R. L. Polk & Co.'s Florida State Gazetteer and Business Directory lists N. B. Borden as secretary of the Borden Lumber Co. (wholesale lumber); Mr. Gorenflo as manager of Fernandina Packing Co. (shrimp packers); Mr. D. A. Kelly as vice president and treasurer of D. A. Kellly (ship chandlers and grocers). Frank Gorenflo died in the summer of 1928 so photo is from prior winter or before. According to the 1920 U. S. census, Mrs. Borden was born in Canada; she was 28 at the time of the census. Mr. Borden was born in Mississippi and was 60 at the time of the census. They had a son, Nathaniel, Jr., who was 4 years old at the time of the 1920 census. (All information supplied by Mr. Zelenka, great nephew of Mrs. Frank Gorenflo.) |
