Description |
An artpeice displaying the local "Ox Man" of Fernandina. The cart and ground are done in by using a mixture of hatching and cross-hatching, while the man and ox are stippled. The "Ox Man" himself was actually a man named Arthur Simmons. A local hog farmer who would travel around Fernandina via his ox cart, collecting unused/thrown away food from the local restaurants to feed to his livestock. He was said to have been a kind gentleman who would always stop and speak to passersby as he rolled down the street. |
