Commemorarive plate from First Baptist Church. Descrption on the back reads: "FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, FERNANDINA BEACH, FLORIDA This church, a state historical landmark, was organized in 1860 and built in 1874. The past membership included Mrs. Peggy Bailey, First President of the Women State Convention, Mrs. Emma Delaney, a missionary to Africa and others. Among former Pastors: Rev. J. T. Brown, Dr. Brawley, Rev. John Neal and Rev. L. S. Marrison. Today with more than 300 members, the site includes a parsonage, an educational annex and a social building. Rev. Randy Hezekiah serves as pastor." |
