This is a decorative map issued by a military unit after the war. The map details the maneuvers of the XIX Corps from October 18, 1944 to April 30, 1945. The map was printed on one side of an edition on the unit's newspaper, "Le Tomahawk." This edition was titled "The Tomahawk Strikes." The tomahawk was the symbol of the XIX Corps. The XIX Corps continued fighting from the Siegfried Line to the Roer, then the Rhine and onto victory on V-Day. The newspaper was printed by Henry J. MacMillan, US Army 62d Engineer Topographic Co, Fort Lewis, Wash. |
