    A facsimile of the narrative the The Amelia Island Affair which began in June 1817 with the seizure of Fernandina by Scottish adventurer Sir Gregor MacGregor who represented several South American insurgent governments. It ended six months later with the occupation of Amelia Island by military forces of the United States.
